MING | 37.02 Monolith
The MING 37.02 Monolith Is a SERIOUS, Stealthy Statement Piece
If you know MING, you know they don’t make watches for people who want to flex at the dinner table. The new MING 37.02 Monolith is exactly that kind of energy –stealthy, sharp, and completely under the radar unless you know what you’re looking at… assuming you ignore that eye-catching, fruity-yellow strap, of course.
It’s the darker, moodier sibling of the 37.02 Minimalist, which was already one of the cleanest designs in MING’s core collection. But this one? It’s fully DLC-coated, with a mix of matte and brushed finishes that catch just enough light to hold your gaze and remind you it’s there. You get a stainless steel case sized at 38mm x 11mm, with a narrow bezel and double gasket seals that give it a proper 100m water resistance - meaning it can handle getting caught in the rain or an accidental drop in the sink.
The hands are classic Ming in look - obvious to the trained eye and fascinating to everyone else - and are coated with Super-LumiNova X1 in blue. The dial, though, is where things get quietly weird and cool. It’s made of sapphire, with indices that are laser-cut and filled with MING’s own Polar White lume – a proprietary, luminous material that somehow glows a cool white color instead of the usual green or blue that you’ve seen a thousand times before. Because of the dial’s 3D nature, it either glows, inverts, or appears to soak up light – all depending on how those photons hit it. The result is purposeful and deliberate - finding a balance between playful and austere. This is a watch that will rise to the occasion, no matter where you find yourself wearing it.
Inside, you’ll find a Sellita for MING SW300.M1 movement with 45 hours of power reserve, decked out with skeletonized anthracite bridges and a customized rotor. If that sentence means nothing to you, just know that it’s reliable, automatic, and dressed up just enough to feel special when you flip it over.
The Monolith comes paired with MING’s own Mango FKM rubber strap and a matching DLC-coated tuck buckle.
Here’s the kicker: They’re only making 100 of these in 2025, priced at CHF 3,500, and available directly from MING or through their authorized partners. Which is classic MING – they find a balance between just enough production to stay niche without veering into hype-driven scarcity. That said… if you want one… don’t wait around.
If you’re into the “if you know, you know” aesthetic, this might be your next daily driver. It’s not loud. It’s not trying to be. But it is quietly one of the coolest watches out right now.
